Wade Davis M.A., Clinical Psychology, Antioch University
Marriage & Family Therapist Lic. #31550
I have been a psychotherapist in the mental health field since the early 1990s. I became
licensed as a therapist in 1996 following internships which focused on addiction, HIV and
AIDS. It was my initial work in the field with the homeless and those in crisis and adjustment
that instilled in me the importance of the therapist-client relationship.
I have also lectured at Antioch University, Pepperdine University and numerous clinics
working with interns on the formation of identity, self-esteem, and confidence. I have
aided new therapists on the issues and needs of the gay, lesbian, and transgendered
communities within the therapeutic process. I have also been a speaker in the business
community and schools on the practices of safe sex and the ways to weave a healthy sexuality
in the climate of fear and concerns about sexually transmitted diseases and HIV.
Recently, I have facilitated small group forums on the school level to explore bullying issues
that can damage or affect early the emerging sense of self.
